Can you set up CI/CD for bare-metal targets with no OS?

Yes. Bare-metal CI is one of our specialties. We handle cross-compilation toolchain containerisation, binary flashing over JTAG or DFU, automated test execution on target, and log capture back to the CI runner — all without requiring an operating system on the device under test.

What does a HIL test setup actually look like?

A typical HIL rig connects the firmware target to a host runner via JTAG/SWD for flashing and a serial or USB interface for test output. We add relay boards or signal generators to simulate sensor inputs and actuator loads, then wrap everything in a Python or C++ test harness that the CI pipeline can invoke on every commit.

We work with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Buildkite. Our approach is to keep pipeline logic portable and avoid vendor lock-in where possible, so migrating between platforms does not require rebuilding all your automation from scratch.
